The Honda EU2000i generator is still the most popular generator for camping on the market. Its 2000 Watts are enough to run most small air conditioners and its full 1 gallon gas tank can keep it running through the night. Honda really hit a homerun with this design. It may be even more amazing that three years later, no one has been able to copy it yet. Because of the inverter design, Honda was able to eliminate the heavy brushes and replace them with a small microchip. His saves needless weight, costs, and ultimate size. The little Honda power pack is small enough to carry and weighs a mere 49 pounds without gas. You can add about 8 pounds for a full tank - heavier, but still very portable.
Another great advantage of the inverter/microchip design is the quality of the electricity output. It is much more consistent when we use a digital control rather than the old mechanical output, and Honda even guarantees the safety of this generator to run sensitive devices such as computers and breathing machines. After a few articles were written in health magazines about using a Honda EU2000i to relieve sleep apnea sufferer's, the models went on back order for months!
